New Dangermaus - Nine O’Clock Blues

March 30th, 2005 · 1 Comment

After overcoming the dark forces arrayed against its publication, the new DangerMaus is out and as Gluten-Free as ever.
Particularly good is the slagging that my dayjob’s parish gets in this story on the Papal deathwatch; we’re not sure if it’s out of respect, disrespect or ignorance that Moriarty has displaced Kerryman Gerry O’Regan from his gig as editor of the Evening Herald and replaced him with Bertie soundalike Jimmy Spangle - or is that a knowing reference to Dave Kenny on a ‘howya’ vibe. We suspect it’s the middle one.
That quote:

Evening Herald editor Jimmy Spangle said: “Jaysus, they’re only af’er givin’ us the fookin’ weekend off, and it’s not worth a bollix. Holiday me sack, we’ve been down de Palace, tinking up headloins for himself.

“He could go any minute, and where we would be den? You tell me dat. No, I’ll fookin’ tell you where we’d be, we’d be up to our bollix in shite, dat’s where we’d be.”

‘Course, Today FM doesn’t do much better:

Similar reports emerged from Today FM. Tony Fenton said he had been playing the same five LPs on repeat all day, he was so pre-occupied with the thought that the Pope might die between 2 and 5 on a weekday, while Matt Cooper commented: “All I can say is, thank fuck we have no listeners.”

Go check it out.
